Rice of Life June

６月のRice of Lifeは、Special Korean food day！We had a special Korean food day for the month of June!

今日はいろんな人がきてくれました♪ Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church の方々がおいしい韓国料理をたくさんもってきてくださり、Many people came today♪ Members of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church prepared lots of yummy Korean food.

ぶどうの木国際教会から賛美チームが来てくれました☆ The praise team from Budo No Ki International Church came ☆

初めてRice of Lifeに来てくださった方も何人かいらっしゃっていて、とてもうれしかったです！：）＊I was really happy that several people joined our Rice of Life meeting for the first time today! : )  

食事の前の感謝のお祈りをみんなでして、We thanked God for the food,

みんなでおいしく、楽しく食事ができました☆ and enjoyed the food together☆

今日のスピーカーには、清水まおさんが来てくれました！！Mao Shimizu was today’s speaker!!

通訳は奥様のせつさんで、おふたりのコンビネーションも素晴らしかったです：）☆  Mao’s wife, Setsu translated his talk.  It was wonderful to see the two collaborating : )  ☆

まおさんは、今回ROLのスピーカーとして来てくれるのは2回目で、前回はまおさんがイエス様を神様として受け入れるようになった経緯をお話してくださったんですが、今回は聖書の内容をいろんなたとえを通してわかりやすくお話してくださいました！！ This was Mao’s second time speaking at RoL.  Last time, Mao shared how he acceoted Jesus as God.  This time, he explained the contents of the Bible in a way we could easily understand.  

神様は、私たちが辛い時や言葉に出来ないような悲しみの中にいる時こそ、私たち1人１人を見つけてくださり、守ってくださっているんだよ、というメッセージがとても心に残りました。I was moved by his message that God finds and keeps watch over each of us when we are heartbroken or when we are in indescribably sad situations.

神様の瞳の中にはいつでも私たちがうつっており、こう言っておられます。Our image is always reflected on God’s eyes. God says:

わたしの目には、あなたは高価で尊い。わたしはあなたを愛している。－イザヤ書４３：４ You are precious and honored in My sight – Isaiah 43:4 

人生には辛いことや大変なこと、人間には手に負えないと思うようなことがたくさんありますが、そんなときこそ、このメッセージを思い出したいですね。We may have to face pain or difficult things in life, and we may have to face difficulties that we cannot overcome. Let us remember how we are precious and honored in God’s sight in those difficult moments.

最後に、日本に帰国するあゆみちゃん、えりせちゃんのためにみんなで一緒にお祈りしました。and finally we prayed for Ayumi and Erise who are both going back to Japan.

日本に帰っても、同じ神様がいることを忘れずに、いつも神様の愛を感じながら生きていくことができるようにお祈りしてます！：）☆ I pray that even if they go back to Japan, they will continue to remember that we have the same God, and that they will always be able to live basking in God’s life! :)☆

今回もまた、ROLで素晴らしい時間をすごすことができました！I had a wonderful time again at RoL!

本当に、いつもROLに関わって、奉仕をしてくださっている教会のみなさん、 来てくれる方々すべて、また、お祈りで支えてくださっている方々、 みなさんに心から感謝です。 そんなみなさんと、すべての必要を満たしてくださる神様のおかげで、 私たちは毎回楽しく素晴らしいRice of Lifeの時間を持つ事ができています！！！ I thank everyone who supports RoL; church members who are serving us, participants, and those who remember us in prayers, thank you from the bottom of my heart! We are able to have fun and wonderful Rice of Life time because of their support and God helping us!!!

Pastor Jon special ROL

５月のRice of LifeはVictory Bible ChurchからPastor Jonを迎えてのスペシャルRice of Lifeです！We had a special Rice of Life event for the month of May; we had pastor Jon from Victory Bible Church as a special guest!

ご飯は、日本食！★　おいしいカレーをひろこさんが作ってくださいました:)  Tonight was Japanese food!★  Hiroko made delicious curry for us 🙂

みんなで輪になっておいしくいただきました！ひろこさん、おいしいご飯をつくってくださってありがとうございました！ We formed a circle and had the dinner together!  Thank you Hiroko, for making us delicious dinner!

みんなで、賛美も時間をもって We started with a time of worship. 

そして今日のメインスピーカーであるPastor Jon：）よしのちゃん通訳ありがとう！And then, our main speaker pastor Jon gave his talk:) Thank you Yoshino for translating his talk. 

Pastor Jonは、ジムの例えをつかいながら霊的に鍛えるために大事な４つのことを教えてくれました：） Using the metaphor of a workout in a gym, pastor Jon taught us the four important things that are necessary for us to be spiritually trained.  The four were:

１、teaching
２、fellowship
３、breaking bread
４、prayer

この４つをしっかりと信仰生活の中に入れて神様との関係を深めていきたいな、と思いました！I want to incorporate these four things in my time with God, and develop a deeper relationship with God. 

この後のスモールグループでも、Pastor Jonのお話をふまえていろんな話をお互いにシェアできる時間になりました。Based on pastor Jon’s talk, we shared our thoughts with each other during the small group time. 

そして、今日は、私たちが大好きなさっちゃんが、日本に帰国する前の最後のRice of Lifeでした。みんなで「きみは愛されるために生まれた」を歌って、日本に帰るさっちゃんのために、神様にお祈りしました。It was our beloved Sachiko’s last day coming to Rice of Life meeting, before she heads back to Japan.  We all sang  “You were born to be loved” song for her and prayed to God for her. 

離れても、心はつながっています：）日本でも祝福された人生になるよう、みんなでお祈りしています！! Our hearts are not seperated, even though we may live afar.  We are all praying that Sachiko will be blessed in Japan!! 

Marikosan’s sharing

今回のRice of Lifeは、Good Steward Churchのみなさんがおいしい韓国料理をもってきてくださいました！Good Steward Church members brought great Korean food for our Rice of Life meeting today!

本当にいつも、ありがとうございます！Thank you, Good Steward Church, for preparing food for us again!

そして、今日は、サンタバーバラからまりこさんとえりかさん、トーランスの方からこういちさんきみこさん家族が、遠くからきてくれました～！：）初めてRice of Lifeにきてくださった方も何人かいて、とてもいい交わりの時間ももてました♪ And today Mariko and Erika came from Santa Barbara, and Koichi and Kimiko family came from Torrance! 🙂  Several people came to Rice of Life for the first time as well.  It was a really good fellowship time♪

おいしいご飯を食べて、自己紹介、そして賛美もしたあと、本日のゲストスピーカーであるまりこさんのお話でした。After the yummy food, we introduced ourselves and had a time of worship.  Then Mariko gave her talk, as she was the guest speaker for today.  

まりこさんの人生を通して、イエス様がどのように働かれて、彼女を導いてこられたのか、いろんな経験を通してすごく細かくお話してくださいました。神様は私たちと常にコミュニケーションをとりたいと願ってくださっていて、そして私たちが神様を見ていないときですら、私たちを導き続けてくださる方だということの確信を、まりこさんのお話をきいて個人的にもつことができました。  Mariko shared her various experiences in detail of how Jesus had worked through her life and how He had led her.  Mariko’s story gave me the assurance that God is continuously wanting to communicate with us; even when we are not looking at God, God is still leading us.   

サンタバーバラから２時間以上かけてパサデナまで来てくださって本当に感謝でした:)★ We are so thankful that Mariko drove two hours from Santa Barbara to share her story with us :)★

シェアがおわったあと、フルーツ＆クッキーを食べながらスモールグループの時間♪それぞれ何人かのグループにわかれて、個人が感じた事などを分かち合いました:) After Mariko’s sharing, we had cookies and fruits, and we divided into small groups.  We went into our small groups and talked about what we felt about what Mariko shared. 

今回のRice of Lifeも、守られて恵まれた時でした！！！ God kept us and blessed our Rice of Life meeting today as well!!!

Sachiko and Hiroshi’s Baptism

Pasadenaにある、Bethel Missionary Baptist ChurchでRice of Life familyであるさちこさんとひろしくんが洗礼を受けました！！！！！！！ハレルヤ！Sachiko and Hiroshi whose  part of our Rice of Life family got baptised at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pasadena!!!!!!! Hallellujah!

ファミリーで洗礼式を祝う事ができて、とっても嬉しかったです！さっちゃん、ひろしくん、本当におめでとう！We were so happy that we could celebrate baptism together as a family!  Congrats, Sahiko and Hiroshi!

今日のおいしーいご飯は、Promise Churchの方々が持ってきてくださいました！Members of Promise Church brought these yummy dinner!

みんなでおいしくいただきました！！！Promise churchのみなさま、本当にありがとうございます！We enjoyed the food!!!  Thank you so much, everyone from Promise Church!

今日は人数がすごく少なかったので、みんなで１つのテーブルを囲んで話しました。We didn’t have very many people today, so we just used one table. 

今日はゆうこちゃんの証し。Yuko shared her testimony today. 

彼女の、神様への想いがすごく伝わってきて、とても勇気がもらえるメッセージでした。We could really feel her passion to God, and it was a very encouraging message. 

ゆうこちゃんは、４月からハワイの聖書学校に行きます。Rice of Lifeを去年の９月くらいから手伝ってくれていて、来週は、彼女がハワイに行く前の最後のRice of Lifeなので、みなさんきてください♪ Yuko is planning to attend a Bible school in Hawaii from April.  She has been helping us out at Rice of Life from around last September.  Please join us nexe week because it will be her last time at Rice of Life before she leaves for Hawaii.

賛美は、よしのちゃんがリードしてくれました。ありがとう！！！Yoshino led worship time.  Thank you!!!

そして、来週は、大里先生がきてくださいます！！！！And Pastor Osato is going to come to Rice of Life next week!!!!

Jon Jon’s sharing

今日は、Victory Bible ChurchからTroopのJon JonがSpecial Guestでーす。我らが大河も一緒に歌ってくれます♪  We had a special guest, Jon Jon from Victory Bible church.  Taiga also sang together♪

ご飯は本格コリアンフード!!!Good Shepherd churchからです。とってもおいしかったですねー☆
いつもおいしいご飯をありがとうございます。Today, we had authentic Korean food prepared by the members of Good Shepherd Church!!!  The food was so yummy☆

Jon Jonが大河と1曲、ソロで1曲、ステキな歌を披露してくれました。そして、Sharingでは神様が叶えてくれたMichael Jordanとの出会い、Michael Jackson Familyとの出会いなど、貴重なお話を聞くことができました。神様はあなたが信じて祈るなら、どんな願いでも叶えてくれますという、力強いステキなメッセージでした。Jon Jon and Taiga sang together one song, and then, Jon Jon sang a solo.  Then, Jon Jon shared how he met with Michael Jordan, and also how he met with Michael Jackson family.  He also shared how if you believe and pray, God will answer all your prayers.  It was such a powerful and wonderful message.

Worshipはゆーこちゃん、よしのちゃんのリードで、PianoはDeonさん、Guiterはなおとくん!!!  Worship was led by Yuko and Yoshino.  Deon prayed the piano and Naoto played the guitar!!!

今日もステキな時間を過ごすことができました。参加してくれた皆さん、そして神様に感謝です。We had a great time again today.  Thank you everyone for joining us, and thank you God for this wonderful time. 

Yuko’s sharing about her volunteer work experience for the earthquake and tsunami victims in Tohoku

今日はpotluck dinnerでした！たくさんの人が、それぞれいろんなものをもちよってくれて、こんなにたくさんのたべものが集まりました！ Today was potluck dinner!  Many people brought different dishes and we had this many dinner on the table!

もってきてくださった方々、ありがとうございました！！！！ Thank you everyone for bring food!!!!

ゲームは、りなちゃん＆けんとくんリードのもと、フルーツバスケットをみんなでしました☆ Rina and Kento led the game, “fruits basket.”

初めての人が今日は5人ほどきてくれたので、ゲームでみんなで楽しめて良かったです！ We had five new people today, and we enjoyed the game together!

そしてゆうこちゃんの東北で1カ月経験したボランティアのお話。Then Yuko shared her experience of one month volunteering at Tohoku area. 

東北の地震からもうすぐで1年が経ちます。私は、いまだにあの地震があったこと、信じられないです。でも今回ゆうこちゃんの経験を聞く事ができて、東北の人たちの為に祈る事、あらためて彼らに祈りが必要な事を彼女の話を通してわかりました。  It’s nearly one year from the earthquake in Tohoku area.  I still couldn’t believe that we had such a terrible earthquake.    I understood how it is important to pray for people in Tohoku as I listend to her experience. 

東北は特に今の時期、とても寒いし、お年寄りは外に出られず、仮設にいる人たちも、みんながみんな知り合いというわけでもないので、孤独感を感じている人たちがたくさんいるようです。Tohoku is very cold in the winter, and elderly people could not go outside.  Also, those who are in shelters do not know each other, so many people are feeling lonely. 

ゆうこちゃんが出会ったある1人の小学生の女の子は、仮設で唯一の小学生で、その子はおばあちゃんと愛犬を津波で亡くし、両親は仕事でほぼいないので、いつも1人で小石をひろっては、その石を積み上げて、祈っていたそうです。One girl that Yuko met was the only elementary student in the shelter, and she lost her grandma and her dog because of Tsunami.  Her parents are both gone most of the time because of work, so she was picking stones alone and praying to God.     

直に被災者の人たちとお話したりしてきたゆうこちゃんの体験談は、アメリカにいるわたしたちにとって、とても貴重でした。The experience of Yuko, who was directly involved in helping victims, was valuable for us living in America to understand the situation in Tohoku.   

わたしたちにできることは本当に少ないけれど、祈りの力を知っている私たちだからこそ、これからも東北の為に１つになって祈っていきたいと思いました。 We may only have a few things we could do to help, but since we know the power of prayer,  I felt the importance for us to come together to pray for Tohoku area.
